What to Expect When Renovating Your Countertops

What to Expect When Renovating Your Countertops

If you’ve never renovated your counters it can seem like a huge task. You might be asking…

Where do I start?
Do I need an appointment somewhere?
How do I make an appointment?
How do I need to prepare my kitchen?
What do they need to do?
How long does the process take?
Will my kitchen be out of commission for a while?

I’m sure the list could go on! There can be a lot to think about and plan for. So let us help break down our process because it’s actually pretty easy and seamless (pun intended) :)

We have this fun graphic we’ll share to give an overview and then we will break down each point a little bit more.

Step 1: Consultation
Call us! This is your first step. We will book you an appointment with one of our design consultants. Our goal for this appointment is to learn about you and your project and then walk you through our beautiful showroom and indoor warehouse to look at options in person. We encourage you to send us your measurements for the area ahead of time (we can guide you on that) and also to bring in any floor, tile, cabinet or paint samples that you might have already chosen for your project so we can hold them up to the counter options. For average sized projects, this appointment could take 30 minutes to an hour.

Step 2: Agreement
Once we pick a stone for your project, we go over the quote in detail and let you know all of the next steps and things you should know!

Step 3: Project Management
There’s two primary people you will work with from our team, your design consultant and your project manager. The two work very closely together to make sure your project runs smoothly. Once your stone is chosen and all the details are worked out with your design consultant, your project manager will reach out and keep the project moving forward to help you schedule the template and the installation. They will oversee the project from here!

Step 4: Template
A member of our team who specializes in measuring will go to the site to do precise, digital measurements. This usually takes about a half hour to an hour unless you have a very large project. You need to be present so you can review and sign.

Step 5: Finalize Project
A few days after your template, it will be submitted to your project manager for review and they will go over any significant changes with you. Your design consultant will try to get the quote as precise as they can, but since they are typically working off of the measurements that you take, there are sometimes small changes that can happen once the template is complete. Once reviewed, your project manager will schedule the installation with you!

Step 6: Fabrication
Our talented fabrication team gets started on making your counters! We have top notch equipment and team members that understand the art of making your countertops beautiful.

Step 7: Installation
Our crew will come to remove any old countertops (if applicable), and your new counters will be installed. It usually only takes a couple of hours for installation for an average sized project. It’s important to know that if you have any gas or water in the area, both will need to be disconnected by a plumber beforehand and then reinstalled after the installation.

Step 8: Brag About It!
Take pictures and show off your new countertops and tag us in the pictures on social media! If you can, leave us a google review, it really helps us continue to serve people in the area to create beautiful homes and businesses. Also, if you refer a friend and they start a project with us, we thank you with a $50 gift card to a local restaurant of choice!

From start to finish, this process usually takes about 2 weeks, depending on that material you choose and the size of the project. We are excited to help you start your renovation!
